few things...

1. what I really noticed was how insignificant the kick was. for hardstyle you can't just put a "hard sounding" kick in. it has to have a considerable amount of bass to it, and this one has almost no bass at all.

2. hardstyle melodies have to be very over hardcore and aggressive, as well as the synths used for them. neither of which, however, were.

3. when you make hardstyle, you have to make sure everything is very loud and over the top. don't forget that hardstyle originated from gabber and hard trance!

so, waaay more bass, more hardcore and aggressive melodies/synths, make it louder and over the top, did I mention bass? :)

not bad overall.

for an excellent example of hardstyle, listen to some Headhunterz.

well

it's alright I guess. good effort.

....

you really need to work on your kick, melodies, samples, setup, variation, progression, buildup, style, drums, etc.

umm

the beginning was very misleading, it was setting the song up to be a fast paced, high energy track, but the song was instead, in my opinion, quite boring.

you could have, at least, put a drum pattern in there, and maybe some buildup leading to a main melody.

DarkMInds responds:

I can see your point, still working on molding my musical persona. I have yet to make a song that is good all the way through, some are good in the beginning, some in the middle, some at the end. It's the little details that make a song and I don't have a whole lot of time on my hands, so I don't get a lot of hands on learning time for myself. Be sure to check back in the future when I do update songs, and see if I'm any better :D Besides, this is only my first double digit song.. did you expect it to be great? O_o

this was great!

nothing to change at all man. this song is perfect.

DjMobius responds:

thank you :)

ooh

the synths make my taint quiver...

good

this was good. can't wait for the final.

maybe change that coarse bass staring at 0:28. it's kinda overpowering and takes away from the rest of the song.

SubtleForces responds:

If you had heard the original, you would understand this bass ;)

And besides, thats not even bass, thats the distortion of the kick xD

well

i didn't like the piano. it kinda ruined the song.

try mixing up your drum pattern and melodies a bit more, maybe add a sub melody or something, this was pretty repetitive.

Mesousa responds:

thanks for the tip.

and sorry that u didnt like the piano but it was the only instrument that i could think of that gave me the sound and feel that i wanted.

not bad

the drum pattern was good, the melodies were decent, but i hate sytrus. sorry.

hmmm

well, it is kinda weired.

i loved the beginning, but it kinda put the rest of the song off, because it sounded quite hardcore, and i thought the song would have taken a more hardstyle or, well, hardcore route.

i also liked the part starting a 2:50, sounded pretty cool.

all in all, this wasn't bad. it does have room for improvement though :)

stefevr responds:

Yeah, but I really didn't want to do something boring, even at the cost of it being weird.

Thanks for the review
